I woke up one morning and found monarch caterpillars crawling all over my milkweed. Here is a glamour shot of the butterfly babies.
I couldn’t get all of them into a photo, but there were fifteen altogether. I’d say I earned a new garden badge. Apparently they eat cucurbits in a pinch, so I gave them some zucchini to snack on before I found them a home with more milkweed.
Confession time: rather than submitting the two polished, finished stories that I mentioned earlier, I spent several weeks polishing the third. I did submit that one, though, to an anthology with a deadline. Deadlines are so useful for productivity. On that note, I will submit the others by my next post or be subject to eternal internet shame.
See you next time.
